FIGURE STUDIES - mixed media & digital

I have always revelled in the challenges of figure study drawing. My process is an exploration, often multiple images mapping the anatomy. I explore the body language of the sitter, their physical and emotional centre of gravity through line, colour and texture. The Figure Study originals vary in size in both landscape or portrait formats.

Discovering my technique was perfectly suited to digital art creation has expanded my studio process. The introduction of animations into my multi-layered imagery allows exploration and experimentation that can be displayed in ‘real time’ on digital frames, or as limited edition gisleé prints. These pieces are often developed into monoprints using mixed media: oils, acrylics, silkscreen.

DIGITAL - stills & animations

The software captures the ‘real time’ creative process and allows an animated replay of how the piece evolves. The figure studies below are from life, as you watch the animation of the drawing in progress, the model falls asleep in the warmth of the studio. The final image is available as a limited edition authenticated Gislée on a variety of handmade papers. Each is a signed limited edition and titled at the bottom. Available in different sizes.
