Oils, wet on wet and digital. These seascapes are predominantly based on walks along the north cornish coastal paths. The impasto technique laying ‘lush’ paint thickly standing out from a surface using both palette knife and brush strokes is a response to what’s felt as well as seen. Often the colours belie the sensations. My iPAD allows me to draw/paint source material ‘en plein air’ for reference to develop oil paintings of land and seascapes in the studio.
The original oil paintings are on canvas and vary in size from 1.5x1m to 25x35cms, and are available for sale. Commissions are undertaken.
My oil paintings are also available as authenticated Gislée on a variety of handmade 100% acid free cotton rag paper. Each limited edition is signed and titled at the bottom.
